Middle-dimensional symplectic rigidity.
Abstract: In this talk I will discuss a middle dimensional generalization of
Gromov's nonsqueezing theorem. I will explain how Viterbo's capacities
can be used to find middle-dimensional rigidity for the image of
coisotropic cylinders by certain types of Hamiltonian diffeomorphisms.
Moreover, we will see that this type of rigidity also appears in
infinite-dimensional settings associated to certain types of Hamiltonian PDEs. As a
particular example this result can be applied to the Sine-Gordon
equation.
